Afghanistan Today, a GWOT Hotspot (The Afghanistan Scandal?) 9-6-14 Sat. (117 days to go)
117 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan, keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they continue with retrograde operations, closing bases and packing equipment. As Afghanistan has mineral wealth as shown at link #1, time for the US to bring her money home with our troops, to bring our money with us, as they can pay for their own military. The US is in debt and needs to use the money now paying Afghan troops, to take care of our own troops and veterans.
I just finished reading “Level Zero Heroes” about Marine actions and restricted rules in Afghanistan among other things. Please order this book, or go to the store and buy it, or download it to Kindle, etc. This is a story that needs to be told! Let’s put this book on the best seller list!

118 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan, or thereabouts. See the link #1 about all the riches Afghanistan has. Time to bring US troops home, and our money with them. The US can no longer afford to fund the Afghan military, we need to fund our own military and our American veterans.
Remember, a good read for this weekend would be the newly released book about Marines in Afghanistan and the restricted rules of engagement they endured, “LEVEL ZERO HEROES”. I just finished this book and give it my highest recommendation.
Time to have a huge investigation or tribunal after end of this war on 31 December 2014, and hold accountable those politicians and military officers responsible for the losing counterinsurgency theory that led to massive US casualties throughout the 13 or so years of war that we have been in Afghanistan since 2001.
Let’s make sure these officers, and the various losing war plans and strategies are NEVER used in war again! We have already had one Vietnam, why did we use the “Vietnam Plan for Afghanistan?”
In future wars, the US military motto should be: “VICTORY THROUGH STRENGTH.”

On this day in 2007, the first ever deployed company of MARSOC Marines were attacked in Bati Kot, Afghanistan, and falsely accused of killing Afghan civilians. Afghan President Karzai expresses anger at the US government but appreciation for the US taxpayers who have funded his country and military the last 13 years.
It is now time for Karzai and his government and military to stand up as the “Vietnam Plan for Afghanistan” takes place and his soldiers will be responsible for places like Bati Kot, Ganjgal, and Sangin, places where American soldiers and Marines, MARSOC Marines, Navy SEALs and Army Rangers fought, died, suffered amputations, and gave their blood for his country and sacrificed so much mentally and physically for Afghanistan and American national security.

With 308 days to go in Afghanistan for US troops, do the majority of American people know what the mission is until they are all gone from that country on 31 December 2014? The story at link #1 says Gen. Dempsey went to Afghanistan and told the troops to focus on their mission. But, it would be nice to tell the American people too, what the mission is as the troops complete retrograde operations to pack up equipment and close bases before 31 December 2014. The general might have explained the retrograde mission, just so the American people reading this could understand what is going on, and how dangerous it still is in that country, with Americans still taking casualties. Just today, I read that MARSOC Marine Master Sgt. Aaron Torian is being laid to rest at Arlington, after his death in Afghanistan earlier this month. RIP Master Sgt. 316 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan as they complete retrograde operations. While packing equipment and closing bases, it remains a dangerous country for US troops to be in. On 15 February 2014, a MARSOC Marine, Master Sgt. Aaron Torian was killed in action by what is reported to have been a pressure plate IED. It was reported he lost his legs, and died in surgery after being evacuated from the battlefield. Pray for his family and fellow Marines. RIP Master Sgt. Links from around the GWOT:

On 15 February 2014, a MARSOC Marine was killed when reposts say he hit a pressure plate IED and lost his legs, then died in Afghanistan during surgery. Master Sgt. Aaron Torian: RIP.
