Afghanistan Today, the GWOT Hotspot (The Afghanistan Scandal?) 8-21-14-Th. (132 days to go)

132 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan as they work to complete retrograde operations before they all leave 31 December 2014.

There were stories in the news the last few days, while President Obama is on vacation, which states he supports the current date of withdrawal for US troops from Afghanistan. The 31 December 2014 date is an extension of a previous date for US troops to leave, but President Obama, as Commander-in-Chief, agreed to extend until the end of this year.

Now there is talk of President Obama wanting to extend the date once again, from 31 December 2014, until the end of 2016! The U.S. Congress needs to step in and put an end to this two year extension by defunding it!

God bless our troops as they complete retrograde operations, closing bases, and packing equipment, in this still dangerous country, as evidenced by the murder of a US general there in an insider attack earlier this month.

In the meantime, it seems the GWOT Hotspot has speed from Afghanistan to places around the world with Iraq back in play with US troops being sent back there, with the beheading of a US journalist by ISIS, continuing terrorist presence in Syria, and elsewhere around the world.

Meanwhile, some officers such as Army Major General John Nicholson, Jr. is back in the U.S. with a new wife, as the story at link #1 describes his digs.

Sunday in America and another day at war for US troops remaining in Afghanistan. God bless America’s enlisted troops, and may they have new leadership which will consider them paramount, and have a culture of victory to instill in the troops they lead. The heartbreak from a lack of winning leadership in the US military general officers, reverberates as each limb is lost, and each life ebbs out of our innocent American troops. This music video expresses the heartbreak of losing a son to war. God bless our troops. Keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) “I Drive Your Truck” by Lee Brice expresses the heartbreak American families face with losing a son or daughter to war. Excellent video and song. Tear jerker. Link:

While parts of the USA await a blizzard, US troops still face danger and cold in Afghanistan. Pray for victory for American troops and that US leaders, both military and civilian, will focus on VICTORY THROUGH STRENGTH. The US no longer has the funds to carry out a long occupation and nation building. Win and bring the troops home long before the 31 December 2014 deadline for victory. Links from around the GWOT:

1.)  American Marines in MARSOC (Special Operation Marines) describe their role in a Philippine rescue of Filipino special operators. Note the award given to the MARSOC Marine: What is this? Some defense contractor award? Read the story for details. Are the contractors moving to the Philippines to drum up business as the Afghanistan Scandal winds down? God bless American troops. Let’s get civilian and military officials in there who have integrity and who are not going to retire and work for a defense contractor. In these times of budget cuts and tight budgets, and the end of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan is it time to disband MARSOC like the Marine Raiders were disbanded at the end of WWII?  It seems to me with the huge budget of the Army compared to the Marines and the Navy budget, the Navy SEALS and Army Rangers and Army Green Berets can handle the Special Operations work now that the wars are over. This would save money and much duplication, and with the Marine Corps shrinking, allow these MARSOC Marines to get back into the fleet and doing what Marines do: TRAIN TO WIN WARS, and when called to war: WIN THE WARS. U.S. enlisted troops are being led by generals who don’t know how to win a war.

As the Drudge Report headlines it:

“Four Star Circus”.

Rush Limbaugh said on his show today that the problem is we have generals being led by their privates.

Gen. Petraeus was helping write a book in Afghanistan with a female untested writer, and at some point had an affair with her, which he says happened after his retirement from the military where adultery is against the UCMJ. But, she is a military officer also, so she would be under the UCMJ, and even if they did not have sex in Afghanistan Petraeus would be engaging in fraternization. I heard one excuse he liked Paula Broadwell was because she could jog with him. There are a lot of amputees Gen. Petreus’ policies are responsible for, so he could run with the amputees and help them with their physical therapy.

General Allen is now caught sending sexually charged e mails from Afghanistan to a woman in Tampa, who happened to be the one who turned in Gen. Petraeus’ mistress. Two four star generals both behaving badly and apparently against the UCMJ.

As I have written since I stated this blog, US enlisted troops are suffering death and maiming due to bad generals such as Petraeus, and Allen. Yes, the Benghazi scandal also needs investigated. But, there needs to be attention paid to these generals who are violating the UCMJ.

President Obama needs to announce an immediate Marital Fidelity Audit for all American officers, starting at the top down, beginning with the generals and admirals to clear out those who are integrity violators. We need strong leaders who can secure victory and promote a culture of victory in the troops they lead.

Links from around the GWOT:

1.) General Allen under investigation for hundreds of e mails totaling 20-30,000 pages, he should face immediate removal from command and prosecution.

He should pay back the US taxpayer, for wasting computer time and wasting his time, for which he was paid. As Rush Limbaugh said on today’s show, Allen sure had a lot of spare time on his hands. Why wasn’t Allen out on patrol with his men if he had spare time to send all these e mails?

Why wasn’t Gen. Allen visiting the injured US troops at the Camp Bastion or other hospitals if he had time on his hands?

Why not let the enlisted men use his computer to contact family instead of making them walk to Camp Bastion or waiting in lines?  Link:

2.) Why did Gen. Allen and Gen. Petraeus write letters on behalf of a socialite getting custody of her son? The head of the CIA sending a letter in a child custody battle? A four star general from Afghanistan writing a letter on behalf of the socialite too? This sounds like an abuse of power. UCMJ should be applied here to the generals the same way it would be for an enlisted service member. Link:

Another Sunday at war for US troops, and another end of month for Americans in Afghanistan, doing battle under rules of engagement so restricted, and a policy of nation building so skewed that it endangers life and limb of US troops.

Don’t take it from me, take it from a soldier there on the ground who questions our reason for being there and the tactics which have him and his men, our innocent American boys walking across mine fields. Oh, I might add, after this soldier wrote his Congressman, he died. He stepped on one of the land mines.

Pray for our troops and vets this Sunday, and pray for justice and new military leaders who have a culture of victory they can instill in the troops they lead. The new military motto of this new leadership, and all branches of our military should be: “VICTORY THROUGH STRENGTH”.

1.) U.S. Army sergeant questions mission, having U.S. troops walk through fields full of land mines. Read his story and contact your elected officials. Link:

http://www.theledger.com/article/20120930/NEWS/120939991/1410?Title=Dead-Soldier-s-Words-Have-Some-Questioning-War-in-Afghanistan

2.) Why hasn’t a Marine Court of Inquiry been convened yet over this ambush in September 2009 which resulted in the murders of three U.S. Marines and a Navy corpsmen? This question begs to be answered, among other things:

“HAS THE ENEMY WHO MURDERED OUR INNOCENT AMERICAN BOYS BEEN CAPTURED AND HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS?”

Contact your elected officials and spread the word with your family, friends, and/or media and ask them to convene an immediate Marine Court of Inquiry and find justice for these Marines who gave all.

Their country owes them that, and for their families to have an open hearing at the Marine Court of Inquiry to get answers. All of America needs to know what happened to these innocent American boys, U.S. Marines who gave their all. Now it is time for us to step forward as American citizens and ask our elected officials to convene a Marine Court of Inquiry so answers can be learned to the many questions surrounding the murder of these troops in Afghanistan in September 2009.

We last had a Marine Court of Inquiry in 2008, time to dust it of and start it up again, as it is high time this 2009 ambush went before the Marine Court of Inquiry.

We need an answer: “HAS THE ENEMY WHO MURDERED OUR INNOCENT AMERICAN BOYS BEEN CAPTURED AND HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS?” (among other things).

3.) The U.S. military just started up joint operations with the Afghan forces again, and already another ‘insider attack.’ God bless our American boys, and say a prayer for them as they suffer, along with their families, in this deadly situation. Contact your elected officials and demand better leadership for our American boys in battle. We need new officers who have a new strategy, and who can instill a culture of victory in the troops they lead. Link:

Two more Americans were killed by an Afghan soldier or soldiers today. Please remember our troops in your prayers. Contact your elected officials: CNN reported two Friday’s ago that the cost for current operations, which does not include the lifetime care of injured, etc. is $2 billion dollars. That is two thousand million dollars! The cost in blood and treasure is too much. God bless American troops. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) British Royal Marines train for Afghanistan, they previously served in deadly Sangin. Like the American Marines they are now being told to, out of cultural sensitivity to the Afghans, stop farting and cussing. Link:

2.) American troops killed by Afghan forces. Meanwhile, the Taliban killed their fellow Afghans, they beheaded 17. Link:

3.) US troops punished for doing what they were ordered: burning enemy communication. This needs to be overturned, and only officers in charge punished, for the situation getting out, and not explaining that they were burning as ordered, enemy communication. The Koran was already defaced with their writing in it for enemy communications. Link:

Another Sunday at war for U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Pray for them, that they can secure victory soon and return home after winning the war. Pray for new military strategy and leadership with a culture of victory in which they can instill in American troops. Pray for our injured, and that there will be no more American deaths or injuries soon. God bless the USA. The US military has secured our freedom of religion, so we can go to the church of our choice today. God bless the US enlisted man. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) U.S. Army buried Islamic reasons for attacks and murders of US troops by Afghan forces. A thought provoking thought at “American Thinker”. Read this story and contact your elected officials who send our troops to war. Link:
