45 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan, and evidence of the Afghanistan scandal grows with each new report by an inspector general, it appears. See link #1 for details about waste of US taxpayer money in Afghanistan, and how it seems nobody was held accountable. There needs to be a post war hearing of the top levels of military leadership for the many years in Afghanistan up until the US leaves on Dec. 31, 2014. There needs to be accountability at the top military level and at the political level, as the politicians sent them there and funded this scandal. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) There needs to be top level hearings of top military officers through the years in Afghanistan and accountability for this scandal, and for the politicians who sent them there and funded this scandal. In addition to wasting US taxpayer money, there was a huge cost of US lives, and for those injured, lifetime of pain, suffering, PTSD, TBI, and fallout for years in payments in disability, etc.

107 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan. In the meantime, more war duty looms, as the Commander-in-Chief Obama wants to fight and win a war with ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) This story cites another insider attack in Afghanistan (near the end) and another attack killing 3 ISAF soldiers. A NY Times story I read said the 3 killed were American soldiers. Link:

108 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan, a country where they gave their blood and risked their lives, while US taxpayers gave up our treasure, and apparently will continue to do so after US troops leave 31 December 2014. The US Congress needs to step forward, US taxpayers need to demand it, and STOP the flow of US tax dollars to Afghanistan. The US troops who served and American veterans need this funding, look no further than the VA scandal and crisis. Use the money for US troops and veterans! Links from around the GWOT:

1.) US tax dollars wasted in Afghanistan and will continue to be wasted after all US troops leave on 31 December 2014. The US Congress needs to step forward and defund this waste of US tax dollars and redirect the funding to the US military and our veterans, to the VA, etc. Americans need to let their voices be heard! 2.) More on the waste of US tax dollars in Afghanistan. This must stop! Congress must defund this and redirect the funds to the US military and US veterans, to the VA, etc. Link:

144 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan. God bless American troops who are still in Afghanistan, and those who have served there during these last 13 years of war. US Army General Harold Greene was murdered in Afghanistan earlier in the week. In the meantime, 19 year old American soldiers are still dying in that country. God comfort the Gold Star Families of the fallen.

232 days left for US troops in Afghanistan.

The Medal of Honor will be awarded  to US soldier who was ambushed and reacted with valor in 2007. The ambush in Afghanistan killed among others, Parker, Kansas Army Sgt. Jeff Mersman. RIP and never forget!

3.) Who will answer for COIN? A good question by author Diana West. Who will be held accountable? Leaders, both political and military should be held accountable for continuing to use COIN despite thousands of US deaths and injuries. Link:

312 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan, as they spend another Washington’s Birthday at war. It is a still dangerous country for US troops as they complete retrograde operations, packing up equipment and closing down US bases, so keep them in your prayers.

Links from around the GWOT:

1.) General Allen, now retired, spout off on war planning. Something about this is not right to me. I believe these retired generals, McChrystal (who was on CBS the other day hawking a book), Petraeus, and Admiral Mullen, who presided over a failed Afghanistan and Iraq war plan, focusing on COIN (nation building) should spend the rest of their lives tending to the wounded troops, the amputees, and those with other injuries who suffered these casualties under their military plans. These same generals and admirals, now retired, should also spend their days in Ganjgal, Afghanistan, Bati Kot, Afghanistan, Sangin, Afghanistan, and other hot spots talking to the elders, with a contingent of guards, if they want to continue their COIN plans.
