82 days to go for US troops and the waste of US taxpayer money continues in Afghanistan. Not to mention the loss of life, blood and limb for US troops in this country.

Pray for American troops in Afghanistan this Sunday as they complete retrograde operations and leave that country by 31 December 2014. In an incident this last week, a plane leaving Afghanistan, carrying out Americans and apparently some Canadians as reported in the press, made a forced landing in Iran. As the story at link #1 indicates, and as reported on major TV news outlets, the plane was allowed to leave Iran with its passengers. Links from around the GWOT:

Another month in the book, and 153 days left for US troops in Afghanistan.

The scandal continues, with waste of US tax dollars in Afghanistan being exposed.

167 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan.

Is anybody listening the the continuing scandals going on in Afghanistan?

The last day of December 2013, and another year in the book for US troops in Afghanistan. Now throughout 2014, US troops are engaging in retrograde operations, closing down US bases and packing up what equipment they can. Some pieces of equipment, even MRAPS I have read, are being shredded and sold for scrap. Let’s hope and pray that the US troops can get everything done BEFORE 31 December 2014 and can come home early. US troops need to come home now, and bring our money with them. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) The top six ways U.S. taxpayer money is being wasted in Afghanistan. With the US retirees having had their COLA cut, I say that the US needs to quit funding and equipping the Afghan army and fund our own military and our retirees, including medically retired US vets. Link:

Another scandal the U.S. taxpayer is funding in Afghanistan!

No longer should the cash strapped American taxpayer pay for the Afghan air force, it is neither morally or financially sustainable.

In addition, the story at link #1 cites possible scandals with the planes hauling opium!

If the Afghan air force isn’t trained by now after 12 years, the Americans should leave this mission to the Afghans, funded by the Afghans when the rest of the US troops leave on 31 December 2014.

In addition, Americans could not secure their own Marines and Marine aircraft at Camp Bastion when it was attacked just over a year ago. How can the Afghans secure their aircraft that the American taxpayer is funding if the US Marine Corps can’t?

Writer Michelle Malkin has been a strong advocate for accountability of US Marine officers in this attack.

This includes accountability for a U.S. Marine general in charge at Camp Bastion whose promotion (another star ) has been postponed: put on hold pending an investigation of the greatest loss of US aircraft since Vietnam, and the deaths of two Marines and injuring of many others.

How could such a Marine general even have been put in for a promotion in the first place?

Links from around the GWOT:

1.) The US taxpayer can no longer morally or financially support the Afghan air force. If they want an air force they will have to pay for it themselves. The Afghans have plenty of mineral wealth to pay for their own air force. Link:

2.) Especially in light of continued “American betrayal” in Afghanistan ongoing now, this is an especially good time to read Diana West’s “American Betrayal” book, on US military, State Dept. and political actions after WWII. Link to Amazon, where it can be purchased in print or e book form:

3.)  Time for historical review: The British in Afghanistan in the 1800’s! Battle of Maiwand, where the British lost the battle, but later sent in a general with a retribution force:
