The countdown to Christmas is in full swing. Americans are shopping, dealing with crowds, and going about their way, in the good old USA that is. Americas in Afghanistan, meanwhile, are at war, with a vicious enemy causing death and maiming all around them. God bless them and say a prayer for their safety and victory. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) This organization, the Coalition to Salute American’s Heroes provides assistance for our wounded troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. Just thought I would put a link here if anybody knows any injured troops who need help, or are injured in Iraq or Afghanistan themselves, you might give them a call or e-mail and see if they might be able to provide financial assistance. I am not saying I endorse it, but a person can go to their website and look at it and if you do know someone who needs help, perhaps they could check it out. Link:

3.) The story above is contrasted by this story which shows Marines under fire who have to fight to deliver supplies to Marines in battle:

6.) Remember the 3 Recon Marines who died going on 2 years ago in Afghanistan, Lowe, Ingram, and Uzenski. Have the enemy fighters who murdered these 3 Recon Marines been captured and held accountable for their actions? Before talking to the Taliban, as a condition at the very least, the murderers of these 3 Marines need to be turned over for trial before there is any talk of Americans releasing prisoners from Gitmo. Our religious freedom remains intact in America thanks to or troops protecting it for us at home and abroad. We can attend Christian services today, Sunday, our day of worship, and peacefully spend the rest of the day with our families. Or, if we so desire, we don’t have to attend church services. It is our decision in America. We can pray only five times a day at appointed times, or we can pray without ceasing throughout the day. It’s up to us. God bless the USA and God bless America. I ask is it a scandal in Afghanistan, not to imply our ground troops are involved in a scandal, but because of the leaders that have them in the restricted rules of engagement environment they are in, and the scandal or the corruption all around them. God bless our ground troops and those supporting them. Links from around the GWOT:

Another Sunday in the US for Americans to worship at whatever church they choose. Or they can choose not to worship. God bless our troops who protect our freedoms who serve in Afghanistan this day, often not able to attend religious services. Pray for them. Pray for victory and peace through Christ. The U.S. is still spending a fortune in Afghanistan, some going to the Taliban. Various reports were out on that today. In the meantime, also in the news plans to cut U.S. military retirement plans. Links from around the GWOT:

1.)  Combat Outpost Margah: (COP) Margah, a story by Diana West:

2.) U.S. troops passing out thousands of dollars to “former” Taliban, out of food and eating goat meat (which I have heard often has worms and makes the troops sick), and Bati Kot, Afghanistan is still a dangerous place. This USA  TODAY story is quite astounding about the state of our troops in Afghanistan:
