Memorial Day in America, barbeques, picnics, cookouts, all compliments of the U.S. military man and woman, who through the years have secured our freedom. God bless our troops. May our troops in Afghanistan secure victory and come home soon.

Thank God for our veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice to keep us free in America. Pray for those now serving who face danger daily in an effort to keep us free.

Just another long week of war for U.S. troops in Afghanistan, many of whom have died in the last few days and many more have been injured. God bless our troops this Memorial Day Weekend and may they secure victory and come home soon. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) This article states that President Obama plans to cut troop pay, read the article for more scandals:

2.) Huge oil find in Texas could cut U.S. dependence on Mid-Eastern oil. Our #1 supplier of oil the last several years has been Canada, so perhaps with this find we could combine to get our oil from North American countries at least. Link:

God bless American troops, and our veterans who kept Americans free. Another Memorial Day weekend kick off to summer in America. Meanwhile, U.S. troops face hostile fire in Afghanistan. Links from around the GWOT:

1.)  U.S. Marines serve around the world. This Marine earned 2 Purple Hearts and a combat action ribbon and now serves as a Marine Security Guard. He is a true humble and quiet Marine hero. Link:

2.) U.S. civilians murdered in Iraq an Afghanistan-cannot be buried in Arlington, see story for details. It seems like an impossible mission these civilians are sent on in these countries to build a government in a country such as the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan:

It is just another week at war for U.S. troops in Afghanistan, while in America things roll on, a new American Idol is chosen, tornadoes cause death and damage, and we head into another Memorial Day and its three-day weekend kick off to the summer. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) While U.S. troops face Muslim extremists overseas, on U.S. shores, troops at Ft. Hood were gunned down by a Muslim extremist who wore the U.S. Army uniform of an officer. This article by Diana West breaks it down in a way everyone should read, including our military and elected officials sending our troops to war:

Changes are coming in President Obama’s top military staff. One who won’t be promoted is Gen. Cartwright. Read story at #1 for details. I wrote to Pres. Obama about this after reading stories about the Inspector General’s findings, suggesting he has to make an good choice for this important position, and it appears Obama has decided Cartwright is not the one. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) Gen. Cartwright out as choice to replace Adm. Mullen:
