The week at war for U.S. troops is another eventful one. Eventful would be an understatement I guess. Attacks continue, and even a hotel in Kabul was attacked this week. God bless U.S. troops, and may they secure victory soon. Links from around the GWOT:

Afghanistan seems to be falling apart all around. Yesterday an attack on a hotel there caused death, injuries and misery. God bless American troops.

Another work week at war. God bless U.S. troops Links from around the GWOT:

1.) Sec. Gates says MRAPS saved thousands of American lives. This may be true, but I have read that Gen. Petraeus told the Americans to get out of the MRAPS, take off their safety glasses, and walk in an attempt to be friendly with Afghans at risk to their lives and limbs. I have written my representatives and to President Obama lately and asked why they are out of the MRAPS? I will have to send this article and tell them to make sure they are back in the MRAPS, not out on foot patrols. Let the Afghan soldiers and police do the foot patrols. US troops need to be in these lifesaving MRAPS. Link:

Another Sunday at war for U.S. troops in Afghanistan and around the world.

Meanwhile, back in the USA, Americans can enjoy a day of church, fried chicken, fried okra, and biscuits, or even sushi, stir fry, or any of thousands of varieties of foods in their home, or at restaurants. Peace paid for by the blood of U.S. troops who are serving today.

We must give them full support to win the wars we send them to. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) Read Diana West’s take on the Iraq surge. It is an excellent article. I keep hearing on TV and in the media by both politicians and commentators that “Gen. Petraeus won the Iraq War,” and “The surge worked.” I have repeatedly written my elected officials on this matter and said that if this is so, they should immediately award the IRAQ VICTORY MEDAL to all who served honorably there. A motto on it could read: “VICTORY THROUGH STRENGTH”.  This article is worth reading again and sending to your elected officials, and ask them about issuing the IRAQ VICTORY MEDAL to our troops. Another workweek ends for most Americans, but those in battle in Afghanistan face just another day at war. God bless American troops. May they secure a win in this war and come home to victory parades. Link:

Another day at war for U.S. troops after the announcement was made yesterday about 10,000 U.S. troops leaving Afghanistan in the next year or so. In the meantime, Army Times reports 6 June 2011 on the front page that 7,170 soldiers have orders to Iraq. Links from around the GWOT:

President Obama will give a speech tonight to tell us how many U.S. troops will be coming home from Afghanistan. Initial guesses are 5,000-10,000. We will see if he mentions what Army Times had on its front cover recently, that 7,170 US soldiers are going to IRAQ! Links from around the GWOT:

The first day of summer 2011, and American troops are still in Afghanistan. Tomorrow the President announces how many are coming home from Afghanistan, but still, Army Times reported that 7,170 are going to Iraq. God bless our troops. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) Diana West points out that it is not how many are coming home that is the question. Link to an excellent article, and take a look at the photo too. LInk:
