197 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan. With what is going on in Iraq, terrorists taking over, let’s hope they do not end up switching and going back there. Links from around the GWOT:

247 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan, and if you read the story at link #1 you see there is a plan afoot for more dirt bikes for them to ride in their remaining days there. Look at the comments too for more details. Featured in the story is the author of the upcoming book on MARSOC, Special Operations Marines, titled, “Level Zero Heroes.”

1.)  “Level Zero Heroes” author, former MARSOC (Special Operations Marine) comments in this CNN story about the use of motorized bikes in Afghanistan. The book sounds like it will be excellent, I plan to read it. Other stories said the forward of the book will be written by retired Marine Major Fred Galvin who was the leader of the first ever MARSOC company in Afghanistan in 2007. Link:

303 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan as they complete retrograde operations to close US bases and pack equipment so all American troops can be gone by 31 December 2014. Pray for their safety in this still dangerous country.

Afghan President Karzai expresses anger at the US government but appreciation for the US taxpayers who have funded his country and military the last 13 years.

It is now time for Karzai and his government and military to stand up as the “Vietnam Plan for Afghanistan” takes place and his soldiers will be responsible for places like Bati Kot, Ganjgal,  and Sangin, places where American soldiers and Marines, MARSOC Marines, Navy SEALs and Army Rangers fought, died, suffered amputations, and gave their blood for his country and sacrificed so much mentally and physically for Afghanistan and American national security.

Links from around the GWOT:

1.) Afghan President Karzai appreciates the taxpayers of the United States who have funded his military the last 13 years, but is angry at the US government. Well, as I see it, with cuts to US troop and veteran budgets, the US taxpayers can no longer fund his military. He and his successor are going to have to use their mineral, gas, coal, and oil riches to fund their own military and their own government. The United States taxpayer has done it for 13 years and can’t afford it anymore. Link:

God bless American troops this Sunday as they complete retrograde operations in Afghanistan, closing down US bases and packing up equipment so we can leave that country by the deadline of 31 December 2014. It is a still dangerous mission, so keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) “Lone Survivor” movie is not nominated for an Academy Award. This story explains why:

324 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan as they complete retrograde operations, packing up equipment and closing US bases by the deadline of 31 December 2014. It is still a combat zone, they are earning combat pay, as it is a still dangerous country to operate in. Keep them in your prayers.

While the US “Operation Enduring Freedom” ends, lets’s not forget those who have fallen and will fall before it is all over.

Links from around the GWOT:

1.) Remember the fallen of 2005’s Operation Red Wings. The movie “Lone Survivor” was about Seals and other service members involved in this operation. Link:
