45 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan, and evidence of the Afghanistan scandal grows with each new report by an inspector general, it appears. See link #1 for details about waste of US taxpayer money in Afghanistan, and how it seems nobody was held accountable. There needs to be a post war hearing of the top levels of military leadership for the many years in Afghanistan up until the US leaves on Dec. 31, 2014. There needs to be accountability at the top military level and at the political level, as the politicians sent them there and funded this scandal. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) There needs to be top level hearings of top military officers through the years in Afghanistan and accountability for this scandal, and for the politicians who sent them there and funded this scandal. In addition to wasting US taxpayer money, there was a huge cost of US lives, and for those injured, lifetime of pain, suffering, PTSD, TBI, and fallout for years in payments in disability, etc.

160 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

In their remaining time there, may they not be exposed to toxic burn pits.

Links from around the GWOT:

1.) Toxic burn pits in Afghanistan: do a search on google.com or bing.com and search for “Marine Corps Times Burn pit story Afghanistan”. The Marine Corps Times has done a story on the burn pit situation in Afghanistan.

163 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan, as they complete retrograde operations for all troops and equipment to be out of there, and bases closed by 31 December 2014.

Today President Obama awards the Medal of Honor to a soldier for his actions in Afghanistan. One story had a photo of a bracelet the soldier wears honoring the fallen, which helped deflect shrapnel and save his life. One soldier’s name on the bracelet is Sgt. Jeff Mersman of Parker, Kansas, killed in Afghanistan. Never forget!
