Afghanistan Today, the GWOT Hotspot (The Afghanistan Scandal?) 2-7-13-Thurs.

I read early today that a NATO helicopter went down in Afghanistan. If it is a US helicopter, that is another expense the US taxpayer can’t afford. The articles said no casualties or at least no fatalities. In reading about PTSD, I read the article at link #1. God bless American troops and may they come home NOW and bring our money with them from Afghanistan, not almost two years from now on 31 Dec. 2014. Links from around the GWOT:

1.)  PTSD is mentioned in this article, various ramifications of such a diagnosis for our troops and veterans:

American troops spend another weekend, their first in a new month, in Afghanistan. God bless them and keep them safe as they wind down operations and the US leaves that country on 31 December 2014. I hope they can get things packed up quicker than planned, and come home much earlier. God bless the USA. Links from around the GWOT:

2.) Another conviction in Air Force training scandal. Where was the supervision here? Who were the officers in charge? Link:

3.) US taxpayer money spent purchasing fuel for Afghanistan. The US government spending this money  possibly violated its own sanctions against Iran. Read about it here! Link:

4.)  Afghanistan in the 1960’s. Girls attended school, and other pre-Taliban photos. Hard to realize that the US was deep into war in Vietnam at this time, around 1967-1968, the late 1960’s. Interesting historical photos, and questions should be asked: How was it that it was relatively a relatively peaceful time then, with females in school and American teachers able to go there with their families? Can this be replicated, by that I mean, the ability of girls to remain in school without a US troop presence or funding, as the US is now out of money, after the US military leaves on 31 December 2014? Veteran’s Day is officially celebrated today, I heard on FOX news this morning, in the Federal Government, US Postal Service, etc. God bless our veterans!

In another development of the resignation from the CIA Directorship of former Army General David Petraeus, a woman said to be his mistress sent threatening e mails to another female friend. See the stories at link #1 for details. Links from around the GWOT:
