President Obama gives a speech, and I hope awards the IRAQ VICTORY MEDAL to all American troops who served honorably there. What a morale booster that would be as they head back to war in Afghanistan.
In the meantime, more US troops died in Afghanistan today, the 3 day total is mounting, close to 20 now at last count.
1.) One of the latest American deaths in Afghanistan, member of CT National Guard, may he RIP:

RIP Marines: God bless you for fighting for our freedom
A sad two days for America, as fourteen U.S. troops are killed in action in Afghanistan. Seven troops were killed Sunday and seven more today. May U.S. troops soon be led by officers with a culture of victory they can instill in the troops they lead. With this change in leadership and strategy the U.S. troops can come home in victory, and soon.
I have also contacted President Obama and my senators and representative and requested that all U.S. troops who served honorably in the Operation Iraqi Freedom campaign which ends tomorrow, be awarded the IRAQ VICTORY MEDAL. I suggest anyone who cares about this to contact President Obama and their elected officials. This can easily be done by e-mail or fax, and also phone calls and letters. God bless American troops! God bless and protect them, and heal our wounded. Various links from around the GWOT below. The new campaign begins Sept. 1, 2010 and is called OPERATION NEW DAWN. Links:

Another day of worship for Christians, another day of war for U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
With the end of Operation Iraqi Freedom on August 31, 2010, I have contacted Pres. Obama and my elected officials and asked that those who served honorably in that Campaign receive the IRAQ VICTORY MEDAL. Let’s see if on August 31, when Pres. Obama gives his Iraq speech, he awards the medal for victory there.

Afghanistan spirals out of control while US troops are constrained by restricted rules of engagement, and in the meantime, as the US troops leave Iraq, it also seems to be on an upward trajectory for violence.
God bless American troops, and may they secure victory soon in all the wars they are in, so they can come home.

The news of war coming from Iraq gets seemingly more violent as U.S. troops leave. In Afghanistan, it remains a very dangerous battlefield for American troops. God bless the USA and may victory come soon so our troops can come home. Links:

The fighting is in Afghanistan now, with the troop surge there, but as the drawdown of American troops in Iraq continues, there is increased violence in that country. See #1 link for details. God bless the USA and God bless our troops so they can have victory in battle in Afghanistan.
