The war goes on in Afghanistan, while America’s involvement in Iraq comes to an end soon, at the end of December 2011. There is an end date for the Afghanistan War in 2014.

November is winding down, and another Christmas season at war for American troops in Afghanistan is upon us. God bless them. Pray for them. Links from around the GWOT:

1.)  Marine Corporal Adam Buyes killed in combat in Afghanistan, investigation into death pending. He was a  Recon Marine and sounds like a fine young man. One story said his brother is a Marine too. Pray for his family at this time of loss. Link:

It’s a shopping weekend in America after yesterday’s “Black Friday” crowds. And our freedom to shop is all brought to us by our U.S. troops, sacrificing to keep us free. God bless them as it seems they are forgotten on the frontiers of Afghanistan while America shops. Pray for our troops, for victory, so they can come home soon. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) Pakistan is reported to have stopped NATO supply shipments to troops, including American troops, in Afghanistan after a reported attack on their troops. See the story for the details. Link:

The war continues on in Afghanistan,  pray for American troops who are serving there. Pray for those who are wounded. Pray for safety for those going out on foot patrol today. God bless the USA.

2.)  Another story from yesterday’s Thanksgiving visit to the troops in Afghanistan by  Marine Commandant Amos. This story leaves out mention which was in stories I read yesterday about the Commandant referring to his multi stop tour or comparing it to the “Bataan Death March”. I thought that was just an odd way to describe the visits, especially since I am reading a story about the Bataan Death March right now, and it was nothing like visiting the troops on Thanksgiving. 3.) Yesterday’s story on the Marine Commandant’s visit to Marines, mentioned Bataan Death March unlike story above. Link:

From the story:

“At one point the 65-year-old Amos referred to his unusual daytrip as the “Bataan death march,” a reference to the gruesome forced march of American POWs in the Philippines during World War II.”

Another Thanksgiving at war for U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Please pray for them this day, for victory, and that they can secure peace in this war torn land and come home to America. God bless our troops. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) NATO troops accused of killing civilians, again Afghan President Karzai condemns them. Link:

2.) Marine Commandant Amos visits Marines in Afghanistan on Thanksgiving, refers to his trip as follows:

“At one point the 65-year-old Amos referred to his unusual daytrip as the “Bataan death march,” a reference to the gruesome forced march of American POWs in the Philippines during World War II.”

I am not sure what that’s all about as I am now reading a book about the Bataan Death March and it was nothing like this trip, it was a tale of starvation and US troops being tortured and deprived. Anyway, here is the full story link:
