176 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan. Reports today say that 4 NATO troops died today. Some reports say they were from the Czech Republic. Have not heard officially other than 4 NATO troops died.

I will be glad when the economy recovers and veterans can go to school on the GI Bill and return to private industry, the power industry, the insurance industry, get into banking, finance, construction, teaching, and many other jobs in the USA instead of going back to a war zone as a contractor. 207 days to go until all US troops leave Afghanistan. And let’s hope that Congress will put a stop to President Obama’s plan to keep US troops there two years past the deadline to leave, which has already been set for 31 December 2014.

The end of another month, and 214 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan until they all leave 31 December 2014. Let’s hope and pray President Obama does not get his way and extend the presence of US troops another two years until 2016.

The last Mother’s Day in Afghanistan for US troops. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they complete retrograde operations in this still dangerous land so all US troops can come home by 31 December 2014. Links from around the GWOT:

Another month in the books for US troops in Afghanistan with 244 days left to go.

As I said a few days ago, it seemed to recently come to me, that although there are 244 days to go until 31 December 2014, when all US troops physically leave Afghanistan, the mental and physical scars borne by US troops and their families will last a lifetime in some cases.

God bless American troops and veterans, and for our fallen heroes.

May God keep our troops and veterans safe and sound, mentally and physically.

Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
