Another month at war comes to an end for US troops. I can’t wait until the day of an American victory in Afghanistan and the troops can come home and no more blog from me because there won’t be any war going on there with Americans in it at least. But, I heard several generals in quotes, I think including Petraeus if I am not mistaken, saying we could be there 50 years. Well, I am pretty sure I will be dead by then. Various links from around the GWOT:

1.) Mother of fallen American soldier, her only son, submits hundreds of letters to Congress, each with a photo of her son, and wins the right, in some circumstances, for parents to be buried with their fallen son or daughter.  Read the story for details. This is a great thing this mother did, I believe, and the bill goes to the president for Pres. Obama to sign. Link:

2.) Trucks filled with fuel for US troops in Afghanistan burned in Afghanistan-see photo. Also supply route stopped by Pakistan officials, needed route to get supplies to US troops. American taxpayers might say: I want my billions of dollars back! The billions we pay to Pakistan! Read the story for details:

3.) CIA chief Leon Panetta meets with Pakistani officials over US strikes in Pakistan, planned attack in Europe and possible US targets:

Early this morning I read about “chatter” or reports of increased threats of  terrorist attacks in Europe, and perhaps the USA. Pray for our troops as they fight the terrorists in Afghanistan and Pakistan, so they can secure victory and return home soon. Pray for our country and our defenders here on US soil and for our citizens so we may disrupt any attack. God bless the USA. Links from around the GWOT:

More cases are in the news which involve the US military, one case reported on said a US soldier shot and killed 2 fellow soldiers and injured one–or I should say this is what he is accused of, innocent until proven guilty. The next case was more information on the “Ft. Lewis 5”.  These troops too are innocent until proven guilty under American law, but I am not sure how the news received videos of interrogations of U.S. troops, it is all so confusing to me. This article at #1 explains the Ft. Lewis situation in more detail to help understand the case. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) “The Fort Lewis 5”: information on some of the latest American troops accused of killing Afghan civilians:

2.) FOX news report on urological wounds of war. Excellent read, pray for our troops:

3.) I believe the best way for the Marines to save energy is to WIN THE WAR and bring the troops home! It is the leadership that is using too much energy by having restricted rules of engagement in place, and plans for nation building. Get in, win the war and get out. Best way to save energy in my book. Link:

The workweek begins for many, after a weekend off, but for American troops in Afghanistan they are fighting for our freedom and security 24 x 7. God bless them and may they secure victory soon.

A Sunday in America, where we can attend the church of our choice and freely practice our Christian beliefs; something not allowed in some of the countries our troops are now stationed in. God bless the USA and God bless our troops who secure our republic and our freedoms. Links from around the GWOT:

In America we have our freedom thanks to our fighting men and women.  God bless them. While many in America have a weekend off, our men on the ground and in the fight risk their lives for us. Our religious freedom, our churches we attend on Sunday are open for business thanks to our troops. God bless the USA.

Another week at war and more U.S. troop deaths. God bless the families left behind, and my gratitude for the service of their loved one. God bless the USA and may victory in Afghanistan come soon. The Washington Post list includes those killed in a recenet helicopter crash that the Taliban said they shot down.

Links from around the GWOT:

1.) The Washington Post says there are now 1,200 U.S. military deaths in Afghanistan:

2.) Former Indonesian policeman alleged to have ties to al-Qaida:

3.) Questions remain over Gen. McChrystal and the Rolling Stone article:

4.) Gen. Mattis says the West not made of cotton candy. Well, the restricted rules of engagement in Afghanistan should be dropped. And our combat veterans in the brig at Ft. Leavenworth for actions in battle should be released. This would show that American fighting men are not made of cotton candy. Need action, not talk to show we are not cotton candy. Link:
