Another Sunday at war for US troops in Afghanistan, while in the USA Americans can peacefully attend the church of their choice. God bless our troops, and say a prayer for them today. Links from around the GWOT:
1.) Another year, another commander in Afghanistan. Although the last one was “cleared”, it still showed he wasn’t out leading from the front on patrols, but was sending apparently thousands of e mails to a women in Florida. But, he’s going to be promoted on probably, and a new commander is in place to oversee the withdrawal of US troops. I hope he can speed it up and get it done in just the next few months and NOT almost two years from now on 31 December 2014. Link:

The debate rages on at the White House: how many troops to leave in Afghanistan? The figures being thrown about range from about 3,000-6,000 down to zero like in Iraq. We will see how it all turns out. Links from around the GWOT:

Another Christmas Day at war for US troops in Afghanistan. May they soon be led by new leaders with a culture of victory they can instill in the troops they lead, and secure a quick victory under a new strategy, and return home to victory parades SOON. The current political and military leaders have them on a path to continue what they are doing, with the continued maiming and deaths of US troops, which is intolerable for two more years until Dec. 31, 2014.
The American troops should come home now and bring our money with them if there is no new strategy and winning generals brought in to lead them to a quick victory in the beginning weeks of 2013. God bless American troops. This should be their LAST Christmas at war in Afghanistan. It is immoral for them to be left there two more years, for Christmas 2013 and Christmas 2014 if new generals and a new strategy for victory is not brought in NOW to secure a quick victory. Short of this, bring the US troops home NOW, and our money with them.
God bless America’s enlisted troops. May US troops NEVER serve another Christmas in Afghanistan.

As U.S. troops in Afghanistan toil under restricted rules of engagement and COIN (nation building) theories put in place by former Gen. David Petraeus, he who had an adulterous affair and resigned as Director of the CIA, hires a high-powered, high-priced attorney. God bless US troops, and may they soon get new war strategy as the COIN theory is as discredited as David Petraeus now. May they get new war strategy and secure war victory and come home before 2014. Links from around the GWOT:
1.) David Petraeus secures a high-powered, high price attorney with FBI, CIA, and possible Department of Defense Investigations pending, financial audits of his time at CIA, and possibly for his year in Afghanistan with his mistress, who was a Major in the US Army Reserve, and promoted to Lt. Col. He tells friends who reported on TV, that he did not have sex with her until he was retired from the military and sworn in as Director of the CIA. If that’s true, and who knows, as he already cheated while married, then at the very least is is fraternization with an officer of a lower rank. But, they can check his financial records in audits during the time he was in Afghanistan with her, and during the time at the CIA that he admits to the affair with Paula Broadwell. He failed the marital fidelity audit, but a financial audit is still pending for his time as head of the CIA, and I believe his year in Afghanistan with Broadwell should also be financially audited.
