The Afghanistan war drags on. Pray for American troops.

An American soldier was awarded the Medal of Honor today by President Obama. The generals who put this outpost in an unwinnable position, should face demotion by the President. They need held accountable.

Another month at war for U.S. troops. Pray for them, and may they secure victory soon and be able to come home before 2014, the deadline set for security victory. Links from around the GWOT:

1.)  Dakota Meyers earned the Medal of Honor for his actions in Afghanistan. I highly recommend his book. This book will not answer the question that needs to be answered, but that will have to wait for a Marine Court of Inquiry to be convened and for more books to be written, that question being: “HAS THE ENEMY FIGHTER WHO MURDERED THESE THREE INNOCENT MARINES AND NAVY CORPSMAN BEEN CAPTURED AND HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS?” The book will let the reader know what a Marine on the ground in Afghanistan faces in battle, and I highly recommend reading this book. Another Sunday at war for US troops, and another end of month for Americans in Afghanistan, doing battle under rules of engagement so restricted, and a policy of nation building so skewed that it endangers life and limb of US troops.

Don’t take it from me, take it from a soldier there on the ground who questions our reason for being there and the tactics which have him and his men, our innocent American boys walking across mine fields. Oh, I might add, after this soldier wrote his Congressman, he died. He stepped on one of the land mines.

Pray for our troops and vets this Sunday, and pray for justice and new military leaders who have a culture of victory they can instill in the troops they lead. The new military motto of this new leadership, and all branches of our military should be: “VICTORY THROUGH STRENGTH”.

1.) U.S. Army sergeant questions mission, having U.S. troops walk through fields full of land mines. Read his story and contact your elected officials. Link:

2.) Why hasn’t a Marine Court of Inquiry been convened yet over this ambush in September 2009 which resulted in the murders of three U.S. Marines and a Navy corpsmen? This question begs to be answered, among other things:

Contact your elected officials and spread the word with your family, friends, and/or media and ask them to convene an immediate Marine Court of Inquiry and find justice for these Marines who gave all.

Their country owes them that, and for their families to have an open hearing at the Marine Court of Inquiry to get answers. All of America needs to know what happened to these innocent American boys, U.S. Marines who gave their all. Now it is time for us to step forward as American citizens and ask our elected officials to convene a Marine Court of Inquiry so answers can be learned to the many questions surrounding the murder of these troops in Afghanistan in September 2009.

We last had a Marine Court of Inquiry in 2008, time to dust it of and start it up again, as it is high time this 2009 ambush went before the Marine Court of Inquiry.

3.) The U.S. military just started up joint operations with the Afghan forces again, and already another ‘insider attack.’ God bless our American boys, and say a prayer for them as they suffer, along with their families, in this deadly situation. Contact your elected officials and demand better leadership for our American boys in battle. We need new officers who have a new strategy, and who can instill a culture of victory in the troops they lead. Link:

The countdown to Christmas begins for Americans. Shopping, eating, spending, and going about in all the hustle and bustle that is the commercial Christmas season in America, while our troops in Afghanistan secure our freedom, warmed by their camaradie and dedication to our country, the silent warriors, defending our freedoms and securing our Constitutional rights. May God bless them and God bless the USA. Links from around the GWOT:

1.)  While operations in Afghanistan continue for American troops, the long war in Iraq comes to an end of its campaign, first the end of Operation Iraqi Freedom and then the end of Operation New Dawn. The only remaining U.S. troops it has been reported in Marine Corps Times and other media outlets, are the approximately 50 Marine Security Guards at the US Embassy. There are reports that 16,000 Americans will remain in Iraq though, part of a contract security detail outside the Embassy Walls to escort and protect diplomatic staff, and to provide security to the State Department staff. At least, that is how I am reading it. Link to a story here about the end of US military operations in Iraq. I am asking my elected oficials and President Obama to authorize an IRAQ VICTORY MEDAL for those who served honorably there, with the motto: VICTORY THROUGH STRENGTH. Link:

2.) 3,170 veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan era living in a six country area around Kansas City being paid earned VA disability payments. I have been contacting my elected officials and presidents for some time now, stating that the injury rate is unsustainable and leaders of our troops in war need to be made aware that getting our troops injured like this is not acceptable and required new tactics. God bless our troops, especially say a prayer for our injured. Link:

The days move on, Christmas gets closer, but for our troops in Afghanistan it is just another day at war. God bless them.

Links from around the GWOT:

1.) 14 land mine sniffing dogs die in truck in Texas, lawsuit filed. So sad and needless, what a shame, and they could have been over there helping our troops. Sad, sad, sad. Link:

2.) Afghanistan: Imprisoned rape victim freed.

3.) Medal of Honor Dakota Meyer: now they are saying the Marines inflated the story. Meyer seems like a good Marine, God bless him and may this get all sorted out and not affect his honor and bravery. LInk:

4.) MARSOC Marine death under investigation:

The war goes on in Afghanistan, while America’s involvement in Iraq comes to an end soon, at the end of December 2011. There is an end date for the Afghanistan War in 2014.

1.) Iran gets in the picture now, attacks British Embassy in Tehran. Link:

A weekend away from war for Americans, planning Thanksgiving meals, travel, and starting Christmas shopping this week. Time to live in peace, purchase food from our bountiful grocery stores, and prepare for the big meal Thursday. But, our troops in Afghanistan, other than a Thanksgiving meal they try to have prepared for them, face another day at war. God bless them this weekend and throughout the rest of this month as they celebrate Thanksgiving at war. Links from around the GWOT:

1.) Family of Marine Lance Corporal Benjamin Schmidt, killed in action in Afghanistan Oct. 6, 2011 by friendly fire, speaks out:

2.) Marine Mom pursues justice for her fallen son and others:

3.) Book: The inside mission to kill Osama Bin Laden. I haven’t read the book, and don’t know what to believe, so judge for yourself.  I have heard the author on several radio shows, and in interview such as in this story. Yet, the US government has come out and said the story is not true. Can we believe them? Who can we believe? What really hapened? Link:
