118 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan, or thereabouts. See the link #1 about all the riches Afghanistan has. Time to bring US troops home, and our money with them. The US can no longer afford to fund the Afghan military, we need to fund our own military and our American veterans.

Remember, a good read for this weekend would be the newly released book about Marines in Afghanistan and the restricted rules of engagement they endured, “LEVEL ZERO HEROES”. I just finished this book and give it my highest recommendation.

Time to have a huge investigation or tribunal after end of this war on 31 December 2014, and hold accountable those politicians and military officers responsible for the losing counterinsurgency theory that led to massive US casualties throughout the 13 or so years of war that we have been in Afghanistan since 2001.

Let’s make sure these officers, and the various losing war plans and strategies are NEVER used in war again! We have already had one Vietnam, why did we use the “Vietnam Plan for Afghanistan?”

In future wars, the US military motto should be: “VICTORY THROUGH STRENGTH.”

The days wind down, and 135 remain for US troops in Afghanistan.

I still keep thinking of the death of medically retired Marine sniper, Sgt. Rob Richards, found dead in his home last Wed. Keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

136 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan. This Sunday as we worship in peace in America, keep them in your thoughts and prayers, keep the family of Marine Sgt. Rob Richards in your thoughts and prayers. He was medically retired, and was found dead last Wed., Aug. 13, 2014. RIP Sgt. Richards.

170 days to go for US troops in Afghanistan as they complete retrograde operations and prepare to leave by 31 December 2014.  In the meantime, Marines continue to die in combat in Afghanistan, this time   Marine sniper providing security for retrograde operations was killed. See the story at link #1. God rest his soul. The story points out the extensive training the Marine snipers receive. Then compare that to the story at link #2, when Marines under combat stress and battle fatigue urinated on an already dead enemy fighter they had killed, and Commandant Amos wanted to “crush” them, when all he had to do was to watch out for their welfare and the safety of their families and sent them to treatment for combat stress and battle fatigue, because sometimes poor judgement is made under these conditions which is not typical, but under these conditions, they may also have suffered from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Post Traumatic Stress (PTS or PTSD) and should have sent for treatment, not to trials and investigations, or to be “crushed” by Commandant Amos. The safety of their families and the welfare of these Marine snipers should have been Amos’ job #1. Another epic FAIL for Amos.
