Afghanistan Today, the GWOT Hotspot (The Afghanistan Scandal?) 11-20-13-Wed.
After twelve years of US troops in Afghanistan, thousands of American casualties, and billions of US tax dollars being spent, the poppy crop is going strong in Afghanistan. Read this letter and note in the photo, the caption at link #1, it was taken in 2007 in Bati Kot, Afghanistan showing a farmer tending to his poppy crop. Remember the first ever deployed Special Op Marines (MARSOC-FOX) were in Bati Kot in March 2007, and after being attacked and thrown out of a war in error (they were exonerated at a Marine Court of Inquiry in 2008: they acted appropriately in a complex ambush, which I said all along!) this village is still a terrorist haven and growing poppy.
