The ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11th attacks were yesterday, but despite this milestone, American troops find themselves still at war in the Global War on Terrorism, the GWOT.  Various links from around the GWOT:

.) This story seems really to describe the situation our troops face, or at least I think it is close to reality:

.) American President and top military commanders call for Americans to give up free speech rights to pacify terrorists:

.)  “They Destroyed My Towers!” by Alan Caruba: excellent story. Link:

.) “Operation Dark Heart”-a book the Pentagon does not want released. I just finished reading JAWBREAKER and it has sections of it blacked out. I imagine this is how this book will be released. Fox News ran interviews with the author this weekend, recorded before the ban. Well, the book has publicity now, the history of the beginning of the Afghanistan war and how Bin Laden has been loose for going on ten years since 9/11 and not captured or killed after the other attacks pre-9/11/01 such as the USS Cole and others needs to be told.  Link:

.) One of our finest has fallen, a U.S. Marine KIA in Afghanistan, pray for his family. This is who is putting their lives on the line for us; America’s finest. The question I have: Has the enemy who killed this Marine been captured and held accountable for their actions? Whoever killed this Marine should not be a candidate for reintegration being proposed.

.) As time passes, goals in Afghanistan shrink: from NY Times:

.) Marine Security Guard Duty-Kabul, Afghanistan:
