I would like the day to come that U.S. troops come home (and U.S. money with them) from Afghanistan. I no can’t wait until I no longer read about U.S. troops losing their lives and limbs in Afghanistan. The U.S. is broke, in deep debt, with a rising deficit, and our politicians and generals must realize we can lose a war financially, and that is exactly what we are doing. Our enlisted troops on the ground are fantastic, but we seem to be stuck with a leadership at the officer and political level, with few exceptions, that is fascinated with the COIN (counter-insurgency or nation building) theory and are nation building before the war is won. This is just my simple opinion from reading stories, watching videos, including those posted by the Department of Defense (DoD) and the various military branches themselves. God bless our troops. Last night, President Obama, Commander-in-Chief began and ended his State of the Union Address with references to the U.S. military and its successes, but what I didn’t hear was the awarding of the IRAQ VICTOR MEDAL for U.S. troops who served honorably in Iraq.

I have requested of him on multiple occasions along with my elected Senators and Representative to “get crackin’” on issuing the IRAQ VICTORY MEDAL with MOTTO: “VICTORY THROUGH STRENGTH” for all who served honorably there, and suggested the first medals could be awarded at the State of the Union Address.

God bless American troops. With the speech over, may our elected officials now get crackin’ on the IRAQ VICTORY MEDAL with motto VICTORY THROUGH STRENGTH for all our Iraq vets who served honorably, and were praised in last night’s speech, but sadly, this medal was not awarded at that time.

Another work week begins in America, while reports coming out of Afghanistan say the Obama Administration is going to have peace talks with the Taliban. Don’t know how they can have peace talks with a group that actively is engaged in murder and attempted murder of our American boys.

A Sunday of peace and religious freedom in America where we can attend the church of our choice and worship without fear. God bless US troops providing us this freedom. God bless the USA. Links form around the GWOT:

1.) The story of the French troops murdered by an Afghan soldier deepens.

The French president suspended training missions and proposed to remove all French troops from Afghanistan, as he stood up for his men and said not acceptable for one French soldier to be murdered by Afghan troops.

This story seems to indicate the French troops may stay. This story does disclose much more information than NATO, US, and ISAF reports have given. This story states, like where the US soldier was murdered by an Afghan soldier a few days ago during a volleyball game on base, that the French were unarmed and on base and shot during a sporting event. It does not further describe what type of sporting event they were involved in.

I am almost sure I read in previous stories within the last few days that the French and Afghan troops were involved in a rigorous high altitude physical training event and unarmed.

I had the impression it was off base in the mountains, but this story says they were shot on base during a sporting event. God bless these troops, eight of whom are seriously injured I read in reports.

Pray for the families of the four fallen French troops. I read in other reports that in addition to the four killed, there were from 15-17 injured. The number of seriously injured has been at eight in other stories I have read too. Link:

Even as the NY Times publishes the story at link #1 about Afghan troops stepping up their attacks and killings of US and allied troops, another attack occurs. This time it is French troops again, four killed and 15-16 injured (reports vary), by an Afghan soldier. Two French troops were killed recently in another attack by an Afghan soldier. The French president does step up and say that their troops are not there to be shot at by Afghan troops, and is suspending their mission in Afghanistan. Links from around the GWOT:

She was killed along with other enlisted Americans the week before the Afghan Air Force Colonel went on a rampage killing U.S. officers as described in the NY Times story above. I was touched by this brave American, a shining example of goodness, hard work, and the American dream, senselessly cut down in the prime of her life by an Afghan soldier throwing grenades into her office she was in with fellow soldiers. Today, Wikipedia has gone black to protest internet censorship bills proposed by the US Congress. They have a link if you go to their site to contact your elected officials. In addition, Google today has a black bar over the Google name. In signing in to WordPress, they have black marks on their opening page and “censored” over blogs. I was wondering myself who this would affect just normal run of the mill Americans who have small blogs like those here at WordPress. I believe the in the US, our internet should remain free and uncensored, it is a great way to get the word out on various subjects, such as the wars our country is in, the trials and tribulations our troops face, contractor scandals, political scandals, and any number of other information we have begun to depend on via the internet, including recipes, maps, and just a general exchange of information. Let’s keep our internet open and available to inform America and the world!
