1.) The story of the French troops murdered by an Afghan soldier deepens.
The French president suspended training missions and proposed to remove all French troops from Afghanistan, as he stood up for his men and said not acceptable for one French soldier to be murdered by Afghan troops.
This story seems to indicate the French troops may stay. This story does disclose much more information than NATO, US, and ISAF reports have given. This story states, like where the US soldier was murdered by an Afghan soldier a few days ago during a volleyball game on base, that the French were unarmed and on base and shot during a sporting event. It does not further describe what type of sporting event they were involved in.
I am almost sure I read in previous stories within the last few days that the French and Afghan troops were involved in a rigorous high altitude physical training event and unarmed.
I had the impression it was off base in the mountains, but this story says they were shot on base during a sporting event. God bless these troops, eight of whom are seriously injured I read in reports.
Pray for the families of the four fallen French troops. I read in other reports that in addition to the four killed, there were from 15-17 injured. The number of seriously injured has been at eight in other stories I have read too. Link:
