Afghanistan Today-10/12/2008-Sun. and Columbus Day
There is much going on in Afghanistan today, but I am posting action on the homefront, where a presidential election campaign is going on, and the new Commander in Chief will inherit the war in Afghanistan, and both candidates promise a “surge” of American troops into the war torn country. In addition, prisoners detained in the War on Terror are still being held at Gitmo, at the American Naval Base in Cuba. I am linking two stories which encompass these two situations, along with some of my own comments on the two stories.
Story #1: Judge orders the release of 17 Gitmo prisoners, Muslims from China:
My comments below on the above story about the Gitmo detainee being released:
#1: There is a country for these Gitmo detainees to be released to: their home country: CHINA. Just as the USA would want American prisoners suspected of terrorism released into US custody for trial and supervision, China wants their citizens returned . Recently a pregnant Marine was murdered and the suspect, a fellow Marine from Mexico, went back to his country of origin. The USA demanded his return from Mexico to face trial in the USA and Mexico handed him over. This is all China wants, and we are not respecting their cultural norms and we are not being culturally sensitive to China by not returning these prisoners. Since China owns so much of our debt, perhaps they hold some sway and can get the USA to hand the prisoners over to them. China considers them terrorists. I don’t think the USA would like it if another country, holding prisoners we consider terrorists, let them go. I don’t think we are being culturally sensitive enough to China. The US government would be pretty hopping mad if another country released 17 prisoners we deemed terrorists instead of returning them to us for trial. Read the following story for details.
Also remember that with the upcoming election, if Obama wins, he will be selecting these judges and they are sure to be liberal, so we may face more releases such as this into the USA. So, keep that in mind at election time: Obama will select liberal judges, you can count on that, not only liberal, but radical, and perhaps ACLU lawyers like Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Hmmm…where have I heard of Columbia Univ. in the news….hmmm….oh wait: that is where Barack Hussein Obama went to school and won’t release his records. Wonder if he had her for a professor? I have no idea since B. Hussein won’t release his records. And, by the way, if his birth certificate is no big deal, why won’t he release it? Seems fairly simple thing for him to do. I will try to get this posted to my blog too. From Wikipedia: Ruth Bader Ginsburg: “…She engaged in advocacy as a volunteer lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union, and in the 1970s, was a member of the ACLU’s Board and one of its General Counsel. She served as a professor at Rutgers University School of Law and Columbia Law School…” The Gitmo prisoner release story is very important to our national security and to our financial security if we don’t respect China’s cultural sensitives and concern for their own national security, as they hold much of our U.S. debt.
Story #2, “McCain disavows use of Obama’s middle name” link below:

My comments on story #2 are below, on the use of Obama’s middle name, Hussein:
#2: On another topic, a story has appeared (see link above,“McCain Campaign Disavows Use of Obama’s Middle Name”. As far as I know, there is no censorship in our country yet, so I can still use the name: Barack Hussein Obama. McCain should not be disavowing the use of Obama’s middle name. If Obama does not like his middle name, he should disavow it himself and give himself a name change! By Obama not disavowing his muslim middle name, it means he accepts his middle name. If Obama accepts his own middle name, who is McCain to disavow its use? There is no logic to this! Obama knew in running for president, middle names are used! How many times have we heard “George Herbert Walker Bush”, “John Fitzgerald Kennedy”, “Richard Milhous Nixon”, etc. Fitzgerald was JFK’s mother’s middle name. Milhous was Nixon’s mother’s maiden name. George Herbert Walker Bush also had his mother’s maiden name incorporated into his, not only the last name, but the entire name of her father, George Herbert Walker. Who can forget the many times comedians and pundits made fun of George Herbert Walker Bush for having 4 names, for having the name “Herbert” as one of them and comparing him to Herbert Hoover, when all the while it was a proud family tradition, and a sign of love and respect that the first President Bush’s mother named him after her father, and imagine the sting the Bush family took each time the commentators said “George Herbert Walker Bush” with disdain. Also, as evidenced with these examples of names, they reflect the proud family history of their respective families. I am sure Obama’s mother named him with pride and love, as Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. Obama should step forward himself and put a stop to this and cite the pride he has in his name, “Barack Hussein Obama”. McCain should not try to censor the use of a name I am sure Obama takes pride in. If Obama didn’t like his name, this is America and he has every chance to change it, as other presidential candidates have, such as “Gary Hart” short for Gary Hartpence, his given name. From Wickipedia: “Hart was born in Ottawa, Kansasto Nina Pritchard and Carl Riley Hartpence, a farm equipment salesman. He changed his last name to “Hart” in 1961.”If Obama wants to keep the same initials, he could choose a new middle name, “Henry” or “Harry”. No shame in “Harry” as in Prince Harry who put his life on the line in the War on Terror, serving in Afghanistan. If, for political purposes Obama wanted to change his name he has had every opportunity. I take it that Obama himself takes pride in his name, so John McCain has no business telling people not to use Obama’s middle name. Hussein, because Obama himself accepts his name!! UPDATE! See post under 10/13/08: Bill O’Really had Obama’s birth certificate in his hands and read it on the radio show. See post for details-10-13-08-Mon. I still don’t understand why Obama does not release his birth certificate, with the rumors he was not born in the USA. He claims to have been born in Hawaii. I don’t know what the problem is with releasing his birth certificate. One thing I have heard, and I cannot back up because I haven’t seen his birth certificate, but I have heard that instead of the worry being that he was born out of the USA, the worry is that the religion cited is “Muslim” and that he also had 4 names like George Herbert Walker Bush, but his full name is: Barack Hussein Mohammad Obama. I have read that in other stories or posts but until his birth certificate is released I have no idea if this is true or not. It would make sense to me the religion would be ‘Muslim’ because his father was reported to be Muslim. In any case, Barack Hussein Obama is comfortable with his name, as he has not chanced it like Gary Hart did, and as cited with the other presidents, their names reflect family history and were given with love. Who is McCain or any of us to take away Barack’s middle name, as in the other presidential examples, was given a name by his mother with love and pride? Obama also states on repeated occasions he is a Christian now and joined the church of Rev. Wright where he attended faithfully over 20 years and where his two daughters were baptized. I have not heard where Obama was baptized or if Rev. Wright baptised him when he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. If we can’t believe that a candidate has accepted Christ as his Savior, such as Obama says he has, and that he himself is comfortable with his middle name, who can be believe?
The Gitmo prisoner release story is very important to our national security and to our financial security if we don’t respect China’s cultural sensitives and concern for their own national security, as they hold much of our U.S. debt. The story on McCain disavowing the use of Obama’s middle name is important in that we have freedom of speech and freedom of the press, so why should a presidential candidate try to go against the Constitution they swear to uphold and defend? Do we give up our right to free speech for the sake of a presidential candidate’s campaign who does not like something which is written or said about an opponent? Would the American people like it or stand for it if Obama came out and declared that there was a name or word we should no longer use?
Very good information. Excellent page. I live in Mexico.
